The third and best of the gimbal bearing arms was  the Aureus. This superceding the Aurum. Its most strickng feature was the gold anodised arm tube.

The bearings were larger than its predecessors, and the inner gimbal has a noticably higher mass. This lowered the lateral resonance frequency by 4 Hz and offered a modest degree of dynamic damping.

Cartridge azimuth was adjusted at the headshell via a fluted locking collar.

Only 3 of these have ever been returned for service out of nearly 3 years of production, making it exceedingly reliable.

Manufactured approx 1985 to 1988
Aside of the 10” arms, if there is a choice of early gimbaled Helius arms to covert, this is the one to have.
