_Counterweights

The main weight on the Omega is fixed as closely as possibly to the bearings to reduce the polar moment of inertia. This helps makes it a medium effective mass arm.

Cartridges can vary in mass from 5g to 23g so we need to supply a minor counterweight which is fitted below the centre of gravity of the arm-tube-bearing assembly.

The standard weight balances cartridges from 7g to 12g, however, we also manufacture a range of weights of the same shape, but with different thickness’s to accommodate the more unusual cartridges outside this range.

In the case of the ultra-light units, we make a special weight that is fitted to the headshell. This is tapped in order that the standard screw used for fixing cartridges can use this weight instead of conventional nuts.
