                                                Internal wires

The standard version of the Omega is fitted with oxygen free copper internal wire, although single strand silver is available  as an option .

The Silver-Ruby Omega is fitted with single strand 0.25mm diameter silver wire, however, the most popular option  is the twin strand 0.15mm dia. Litzed silver. This wire is cryogenically frozen in liquid oxygen for 2 weeks until fully recrystalised giving it far greater flexibility and virtually eliminating crystal grain boundaries within the metal after it has been drawn.

The improvement is obvious in the guise of better soundstage and depth of music. Subtle low-level detail within the music is far better defined. It should be noted the silver is enamelled with a tough epoxy coating that is gold in colour..

To further improve the design, the internal wires extend out through the underside of the arm without any solder joints. The length they extend is normally 20cm, but can be made to any length you want.

As can be seen from the image, the wires terminate in a small box fitted with 2 female phono connectors.  This has 2 notable advantages, firstly it enables you to select whatever interconnect cables you want in order to maintain a consistency of cabling through the system. Secondly  the fine, screened  wires do not adversely affect the turntable suspension ; a common problem where stiff cables exit the arm on turntables with lightly sprung suspension and prevent it from moving properly.

Whilst we believe in the obvious benefits of this method of termination, we accept it is not always practical and, when requested to do so, will fit male phono connectors.  However, we do advise customers that the internal wires are delicate and not ideally suited to conventional phono plugs.
